1. Call for Abstracts
The Organizing Committee of IUMRS-ICA 2026 cordially invites researchers and engineers to submit abstracts presenting their latest research findings in materials science and related fields.
The conference will be held at the ICC Tainan Convention Center in Tainan, Taiwan, from October 31 to November 5, 2026. providing an international platform for presenting cutting-edge research and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
2. General Policy
- Submitted abstracts must be original and must not have been previously presented or published in any form prior to IUMRS-ICA 2026.
- All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and Symposium Organizers, who reserve the right to accept or reject submissions, assign them to oral or poster sessions, and reallocate them to more suitable symposia if necessary.
- Accepted abstracts will be scheduled in thematic oral or poster sessions within the appropriate symposia during the conference.
- For each accepted abstract, at least one author must complete registration and payment by the specified deadline to secure the presentation slot and inclusion in the abstract book or online system.
- All presentations must be delivered in English.
3. Submission Instructions
- All abstracts must be written in English and submitted via the online abstract submission system.
- When submitting, please enter your abstract text in the online form and upload the completed Word file prepared using the official abstract template.
- Upon successful submission, an automatic confirmation e-mail will be sent to the submitting author.
- The submitting author will receive all correspondence regarding the abstract status, presentation type, date, and time.
- Both the abstract text and the uploaded file may be revised in the system until the submission deadline. No changes will be accepted thereafter.
- When submitting, please select the most appropriate symposium and indicate your preferred presentation type (oral or poster). The final decision will be made by the Scientific Committee.

4. Abstract Preparation
4.1 Title
- Do not include author names or affiliations in the title.
- Use sentence case following common international journal conventions.
- The title should be concise and clearly indicate the content of the abstract.
- Do not place a full stop at the end of the title and do not use underlining.
4.2 Authors and Affiliations
- For each author, please provide: full name, department, organization/institution, city, and country.
- Affiliation information should consist of department, organization/institution, city, and country only.
- Ensure that the author and affiliation information entered in the online system matches exactly the information shown in the uploaded abstract file to ensure accurate listing in the abstract book and conference materials.
4.3 Abstract Body
- The recommended maximum length of the abstract is 300–400 words (excluding spaces); the exact limit will be announced on the conference website.
- The abstract body should include: background and motivation, a brief description of methods, key results, and conclusions with their significance.
- Do not repeat the title, author names, or affiliations in the abstract text.
- Figures and tables are not permitted. If references are cited, please format them according to the reference style examples provided by the conference and maintain consistency.
- Standard abbreviations may be used; define non-standard abbreviations at first mention.
- Abstracts must contain substantive research results and comply with international ethical standards.
