Azole-Based Metal–Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic H₂ Production
TBA TBA
Metal–Organic Framework/TBA
Photocatalytic hydrogen (H2) production offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to generating hydrogen by harnessing solar energy. In this study, we utilized Co-triazole Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) in combination with fluorescein as a photosensitizer and triethylamine as a sacrificial agent. Our findings reveal that the incorporation of an -NH2 functional group enhances the catalytic performance for H2 production. The framework decorated with this polar -NH2 group facilitates the rapid diffusion of H⁺ ions, promoting the hydrogen evolution reaction at the catalytic sites. Additionally, the presence of Zn in a mixed-metal system significantly improves the stability of the framework and further boosts its catalytic performance.
