Muhammad Monirul Islam obtained B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2003 and obtained Ph.D. in Applied Physics from University of Tsukuba, Japan, in 2010. He worked as postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo from 2010 to 2013 before joining University of Tsukuba, where he is currently working as an Associate Professor. Dr. Islam is a member of the Japanese Society of Applied Physics. His current research interests include the growth and characterization of semiconductor materials, including 2D-materials for electronics, energy production and energy storage applications.
