Bo-Shiuan Li (Bo) is currently an assistant professor at Departments of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. He led the Extreme Mechanics & Materials Group focusing on better understanding deformation mechanics at the microstructural level. Techniques often used are small-scale mechanical tests and SEM-based deformation mapping. The improved knowledge will be used to design stronger structural materials capable of serving in more extreme environments. Current material systems of interest are refractory alloys, HEAs, advanced steels, and SiC. Bo obtained his BS in Engineering & System Science from National Tsing-Hua University (TW) in 2009, MS in Nuclear Engineering from University of South Carolina (USA) in 2013, and DPhil in Materials from the University of Oxford UK in 2018. He is currently a section editor of the Elsevier journal Materials Today Communication, focusing on metals and alloys.
