Chaikarn Liewhiran was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. He received the TRF–CHE Young Scopus Researcher Award in Physical Sciences in 2014. He has authored 96 peer-reviewed journal articles and review papers. His research centers on interdisciplinary materials science, with a strong emphasis on nanoscience and nanotechnology. His work focuses on the design and development of functionalized catalysts and metal oxide-based gas sensors for advanced applications. These include environmental and industrial gas detection, as well as biomedical sensing through breath diagnostics, particularly the validation of sensor performance using clinical breath samples to support preventive healthcare and improved societal well-being.
