Kazuaki Matsumura (born in 1975) graduated from Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University in 2000. He got a Ph.D in Kyoto University in 2004. From 2006 to 2011, he worked as the Assistant Professor of Institute for Frontier Medical Sciences, Kyoto University. Since 2011, he became the Associate Professor of School of Materials Science in Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He promoted to become Full Professor in 2020. He has published more than 150 papers in the fields of polymer science, biomaterials, regenerative medicine and so on. His current research interests include the design of biodegradable scaffolds and drug delivery system carries, functional polymers such as cryoprotective agents, thermoresponsive polymers.
