The IUMRS International Conference in Asia (IUMRS-ICA) stands as one of the most influential platforms for materials research in the Asia-Pacific region and a flagship conference series of the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS). With a long-standing tradition of attracting over 1,000 participants at each meeting, IUMRS-ICA brings together leading scientists, innovators, and emerging researchers to shape shared perspectives on the future of materials science.

IUMRS-ICA 2026 will spotlight the ideas and technologies driving the next era of materials research—from Sustainable energy and green technologies to Advanced electronic materials, High-entropy materials, and AI and computational materials innovation, highlighting approaches that are redefining how materials are discovered, designed, and deployed.

Set in Tainan, not only Taiwan’s oldest city, but also the largest advanced semiconductor manufacturing site in the world, and a growing hub of academic and technological innovation, IUMRS-ICA 2026 will be hosted at ICC TAINAN, a modern international convention center, on October 31st until November 5th. Together, the city and venue provide an inspiring backdrop for meaningful exchange, collaboration, and forward-looking dialogue within the global materials community.
